DNC Hatefest Clusterflop: What The Dems Have Become
This Week's Democratic National Convention symbolized what a once-great political party has become:
That is, the strained support of our President, who has gotten everything he wanted, yet hasn't affected our dismal economy in a positive way.
President Obama got a Stimulus bill passed without a single Republican vote in the House, and only 3 in the Senate (this is what Democrats call "bipartisan"), which was supposed to create jobs and jump-start the economy though expensive government projects. We're still at over 8% unemployment and now power-diving deeper into debt, thanks to this bill, which appears to have mostly benefited teachers' salaries and pensions. I have a blog that deals with the government waste this program subsidizes.
President Obama got his "Obamacare" healthcare bill passed, which puts the United States on track to single payer or Universal Healthcare, despite what Obama's defenders will tell you. He accomplished this through an end-run around the will of the people with the Congressional "reconcilation" process, because 2/3rds of the American people wanted Obama to focus on economic recovery FIRST, before strapping the country down to an expensive new entitlement program. No Republicans voted for Obamacare, which in the meantime has effectively slowed down the expansion of small to medium sized businesses who aren't sure what burdens they'll be forced to take on due this massive government takeover of healthcare.
Barack Obama has suggested that Mitt Romney isn't ready to deal with international politics, when Obama was elected with NO foreign policy experience, and has made blunder after embarrassing blunder on the international stage.
Sorry, Mr. President, but there are other threats to us besides Al Qaeda, and Vladimir Putin's sword rattling deserves some concern. Our relationship with the former USSR is strained, and you don't seem to get it. Also, the fact that you have snubbed Israel and think that tossing them a little foreign aid will placate them is just plain stupid on your part. The world buys a lot of its energy from the Middle east and Israel represents an island of stability in a sea of political unrest. It's plain that your concern for Israel is only for securing the liberal Jewish voter bloc.
Obama's funniest moment at the DNC was when he said, "You didn't elect me to tell what you wanted to hear, you elected me to tell you the truth."
So, what was the purpose of the big "pillar speech" in Colorodo, Mr. Obama, when you told us "we are the people we've been waiting for", and your election will mark the time when the "oceans began to rise"?
Obama said that if he couldn't reduce the deficit by one half he was a "one term proposition".
Obama promised "shovel-ready projects" and then admitted "they weren't as shovel-ready as we thought", to the sound of chuckling over his admission.
Are you admitting, Mr. President, that you're just another professional "say anything to get elected" politician?
It's 3 1/2 years into Obama's 1st term, and he's been campaigning for the last year or so. When recently asked about how Obama would grade his own performance, he responded with "an incomplete".
I'm sorry, Mr. President, but think back to your college days. If you had handed an incomplete assignment to one of your professors, that would have been counted as a "fail".
