Obama vs. BP: Incompetent and Boorish

President Obama is working hard at being the most incompetent boob ever to haunt the Oval Office. He has made anybody with more than 100 bucks to his name a member of the New Axis of Evil, and he's hell-bent on destroying any company that believes in making things at a profit that is beyond what the Chosen One himself decides is "fair". He has placed himself and his cronies in the roles of little gods on earth that can create Utopia by fiat as long as we hand over all our money and shut up.

Obama has no concept of the notion that BP didn't intend to lose an expensive drilling platform and cause millions of dollars in their profits to pollute the Gulf. Not even BP has unlimited funds, yet Obama and the environmental wouldn't shed a tear if BP went under because of this.

Obama has taken the boorish position of an angry mother who's kid just spilled a gallon of kool-aid on the berber carpet: "YOU CLEAN UP THIS MESS WHILE I WATCH!" A responsible President would have marshalled resources WHEREVER he could get them, and use every means to CONTAIN the spillage while BP concentrated on fixing the pipe. An INTELLIGENT leader would have said, 'lets get the mess under control and then we'll figure out who's responsible and kick some butts:".

Instead, we've got Obama's people talking about having a "boot on the throat" of BP (as if the loss of millions of dollars plus BP's future in jeopardy weren't motivation enough), and Obama DITHERING on creating sand berms and refusing assistance from other countries that have dealt with these spills before. Some leadership, huh?

But Liberals will BAWL SOME MORE because some Republican pointed out Obama's LOUSY handling of the spill and his demonization of BP in order to push his dumb "green energy" pipe dream. Libs cry like babies and throw fits when reality bites them on the butt.

Crap In Trade - The Energy Fiasco

You 've already seen the dire predictions by various pundits on what a debacle President Obama's Energy Plan is going to be. This kind of shenanigans continues in Washington because the people that vote the Democrat Ticket lack common sense. I'll explain.

The Obama Administration wants to levy substantial taxes on energy in order to create some kind of "green energy sector" that is somehow supposed to create jobs and eliminate the country's need for imported petroleum. When the Administration talks about about "green" or "renewable" energy sources, we're focusing on wind or solar generated power. The Administration's energy plan has no provisions for the developement of biofuels or nuclear power. There is also no provision for creating more hydroelectric or geothermal energy.

Now here's where the "common sense" part figures in.

How many solar panels or hydrogen fuel cells will it take to power an 18 wheel truck or a locomotive? Most of our petroleum is used fo power vehicles, like cars, or trucks and trains that haul most of this country's consumable goods.

How many diesel-burning locomotives or 18-wheelers will be taken off the roads by the Adminstration's Energy Plan? Or do we need to start growing our own food again?

Most of this nation's power plants are fueled by natural gas or coal. What kind of "clean" energy source will the Administration convert all these power plants to?

A single nuclear reactor can provide as much energy as hundreds of windmills, and not deface the entire countryside. Nuclear reactors are emisionless. President Obama and his environmental cronies could care less... nuclear power is not an option.

The Adminstration's Energy Plan is really NO plan, just a lot of feel-good rhetoric to make Average Joe not feel so bad about being bent over a fence-rail. Once again, the average taxpayer will be having his pockets picked EVEN MORE by a greedy, over-reaching Gub-Mint that wants YOUR money to spend on useless programs and feed the coffers of greedy Government labor unions, who fill Democrat campaign war chests in return for big favors.

And we'll still be buying oil from OPEC. Nice job, Democrats!

Liberal Democrats Have NO Energy Policy

That's right... Democrats have NO long-term energy policy, even though they keep repeating the same environmentally correct buzz-phrases to please their Enivronmentalist Masters.

There's nothing more comically aggravating than watching as Democrats on C-Span try and defend their Party Line on energy independence.

Caveat Emptor: No matter how many high-falootin' words all your Democratic representatives spew, like "investing in new green technologies" and "creating jobs in the emerging green sector", remember, they're just words. Notice how NONE of these people can describe any of those "new" technologies, or just what is a "green sector".

Another justification the Liberal Democrats love to toss out is "America's petroleum greed", because the United States, which makes up about 6% of the world's population, consumes about 25% of the world's crude oil. So what? News flash! We BUY that crude, remember? I guess it's "not fair" that the U.S. is one of the most prosperous and technologically advanced countries on earth.

The saddest part is, NONE of the anti-American elitists in Congress are doing anything to set personal examples for the rest of us concerning environmentalism. They still fly around the country in gas-guzzling jets, drive to work in nice cars, and they live in nice, energy-consuming homes on the hill, instead of the 12 x 12 boxes their environmental activist buddies would have the rest of us inhabit. Nice!

But WE REG'LAR FOLKS are greedy, because we choose to drive to work instead of standing for 2 hours on on stinky, lumbering, overcrowded buses; we live in nice dwellings instead of damp caves; and we enjoy the privileged lifestyle that comes with being part of a successful capitalist economy vs. the squalor of a "socially just" collectivist beehive.

Even sadder: the Democrat Elitists, who CLAIM to be the real Party of the People, aren't going to be listening to the people any time soon, even though several Gallup Polls have come out, showing some not-so-surprising results about what Average Joe thinks should be done concerning America's Energy Crisis:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/107542/Majority-Americans-Support-Price-Controls-Gas.aspx

http://www.gallup.com/poll/22171/Majority-Americans-Support-Use-Nuclear-Energy.aspx

What these 2 polls tell us is that American attitudes are changing towards increased domestic oil exploration and the use of nucelar reactors to generate power. More than half of the respondents to both polls favor both. But do Democrats care, even though they claim to speak for "the mainstream"? Nope! You'll find Liberal Democrat representatives at the local, state, and Federal level still chanting their environmentalist mantras: "We need to get away from fossil-based and radioactive fuels and invest in "renewable energy resources."

Wonderful. Just answer the People this question, O Democrat Environmentalist: Since most American goods are transported by rail and truck, just what "renewable resource" do you have in mind for powering a 220 ton locomotive or a 50,000 pound 18-wheeler? Corn? Soybeans? The world's largest hydrogen fuel cell?

And just what do Democrats have in mind for all those power plants that run on natural gas? "Well, we need to explore the use of windmills and solar power." Awesome! There's nothing like a repeat of this favorite liberal slogan.

Let's take a reality break here. To match the 1.1 gigawatt generating capacity of just 1 of Diablo Canyon's nuclear reactors, it will take over 660 windmill turbines or over 30,000 solar panels, not taking into account the facts that windmills don't work real well in calm weather, or that solar panels work lousy at night time.

Diablo canyon supplies power to the residents of San Luis Obispo County. To meet the needs of the residents of Metropolitan Los Angeles, you'll need at least 3 times Diablo Canyon's full capacity, which is 2.2 gigawatts. Can you imagine the amount of real estate required by 3900 wind turbines? And the number of solar panels required to produce that amount of wattage would cover most of the state of Delaware.

But all the Democrats and their liberal environmental puppetmasters keep doing is chanting their "use less" and "renewable resources" mantras without any thought of the actual logistics involved. Sort of like the Aesop's fable about the mice that wanted to put a warning bell on the collar of the cat. The idea looks great... on paper. But has anybody thought about what happens when you actually try and make it work?

Try mentioning that to the Democrats and their liberal supporters.

Don't be surprised if all you get is dead silence, right before the name-calling begins.

Democrats LOVE High Gas Prices

Okay, so it's been ages since I've blogged here. I've been busy with work, training, and moving my familay to another county... Ventura. Now I'm back. And blogging.

Well, kiddies, in case you think otherwise, don't be fooled by the recent dog-and-pony show featuring Senator Dianne Feinstein and other useless Democrats as they "grill" Big Oil executives over the recent explosion in fuel prices. It's all a media circus and nothing more, designed to make the proles feel as if their feel-good nice-guy liberal Democrat representatives are "doing something", like getting tough with Big Oil.

Riiiiiiiiiiight.

The fact is, Liberal Democrats, who've sold their souls to the Environmental Lobby, LOVE the massive increase in fuel costs over the past year. They couldn't be happier, no matter how dour they look on the Idiot Box. Here's why:

1. TAXES... 80 cents per gallon here in the Golden State. That's EVERYBODY who drives, paying an extra 10 to 20 bucks a week in TAXES. All that wonderful extra money is flowing into Gub-Mint coffers, where, even though it's supposed to be a 'road use' tax, it winds up being tossed into the general kitty and used for just about everything else. Here in California, it's especially bad, because gasoline taxes are used to subsidize Public Transportation in the cities, where rider fares aren't high enough to make these services pay for themselves. If we want a freeway renovation or expansion, the taxpayers get suckered into paying for it through bond initiatives... the kind which have sent California's State Credit Rating into the cellar. Oh, yeah, we can borrow money alright... at interest rates which constitute legalized theft.

If you still don't think the Gub-Mint is tickled pink about the increased revenue, just turn on the Media Wayback Machine and review recent comments by Presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Both of them proposed giving Joe Consumer a "gas tax vacation" during the summer. But, while we'd think that would mean a temporary suspension of the sales taxes, nooooooooooooo... they're proposing the Oil Companies pay the taxes FOR the consumer. Ain't that great? It's okay to blather on about "corporate greed" as exemplified by Big Oil, but not a whisper is made by either of them about BIG GUB-MINT GREED... not when it means taxing petroleum at 20 percent!

2. The push towards a Socialist Utopia

Democrats have been beholden to environmental interests since the 1960's. Now, with all the news reports coming out of people cutting back their travel because of high gas prices, and even switching over to Public Transportation, the Liberal Socialists are high-fiving even as I write this. So what if gasoline goes up to 4, 5 or even 10 bucks a gallon? They pay that in Europe. With the fuel price explosion, the United States is moving one step closer to being just like Socialist Western Europe... the dream of all liberal political activists.

3. The Global Warming Boondoggle

Algore's "Earth in the Balance", considered holy scripture by the Environmentalist Movement, calls the internal combustion engine a greater threat to the planet than global nuclear war. Imagine all those poor polar bears floating around on miniature ice floes while the rest of us roast in the 1/2-degree-hotter global climate. Just brings tears to your eyes, doesn't it?

Gas prices are a WONDERFUL tool for reducing this ominous threat and getting more people on the buh-uh-uh-uh-us where they belong. We're one step closer to getting rid of our cars, and living in sustainable 'hives', where we can be watched and controlled by smart, environmentally-sensitive folks, who know what's best for all of us. And the polar bears will be eternally grateful!

And here's the icing on the cake: the Democrats can get away with blaming the entire gas price issue on Big Oil and the Bush Administration, in hopes that the public will ignore the fact that they have NOTHING resembling a comprehensive energy independence strategy... they just keep mealymouthing the same old pap about "green' technologies, solar panels, and windmills (I'll get into their lame lack of a REAL energy policy in another post).

The REAL goal isn't energy independence, anyway. It's about the nationalization of all American corporations, period.

As I thought... 'Live Earth' was Ho-Hum

Just search on the Inter-Web and get the real scoop on how well AlBore's "Live Earth" concerts did overall in TV ratings and ticket sales. And guess what?

"Live Earth" didn't sell out in the live venues, and in America and Britain, the TV ratings were nothing to boast about: Britian's Wembley broadcast had lower ratings than the Concert For Diana, and in the U.S., NBC's 3-hour special had no better ratings than any other Saturday night, which is the worst night for TV watching, according to the Nielsen folks.

The concert promoters in various venues were complaining that tickets didn't sell out because the audience just wanted to see the bands, and not all the ads, lectures by AlBore, videos, and other fillers crammed in between songs.

Also, there were a lot of complaints by TV viewers about 4-letter words being uttered by the performers (what else is new?). The only highlight is on the Inter-Web, where a lot of users logged into the video streams for a short time... and for for FREE.

Looks like once more AlBore and his fellow junk-science peddlers in the Eco-Whacko-left OVERestimated the stupidity of Average Joe.

"Live Earth" Hypocrisy

What a joke.

"Live Earth", AlBore's worldwide concert extravaganza, will cause an enormous amount of pollution to "create awareness" about the danger of causing pollution.

Oh boy! A whole bunch of spoiled musicians, who live in palaces all over the world, are going to teach the rest of us proles how to live better lives, all based on media hype generated from junk science. There's nothing like people who fly everywhere in private jets, bragging about how they're doing their part to "fight global warming" by monitoring their toilet paper use and paying others to run their air conditioners ten minutes a day less by dealing in "Carbon Credits".

And good ol' Al, who lives like a king in a huge, energy-hungry house in Tennessee, will have his chubby mug on tube all weekend... what a way to kick off another Presidential bid.

And in the end, whatever money is made from this event will line the pockets of the promoters, period. It's just another way to get you to give your money to people who "care". And, while the entertainers who are part of this show will "feel good" about having "done something", the fact remains that this public spectacle will do absolutely NOTHING to change the lives of the public at large. It's all smoke.

Personally, I think this event WON'T make the money the promoters are counting on. In fact, I think this thing will lose a TON of money. But to the Failure-Is-Really-Success Liberals, it will counted as huge victory in the War On Global Warming. Ta-da!

I'll tell you what: if you want to make a real difference in the lives of human beings, take all that money you'd blow on 'Live Earth' memorabilia or the upcoming concert DVD, and donate it to the Salvation Army. At least they can show you demonstrable results of the good work thet're doing
