The UNfairness Doctrine
Oh boy! the Knucklehead Left has a new weapon they'd love to introduce in their war against free speech... the Fairness Doctrine.
This little legislative beauty (notice how Liberals have to FORCE their nuttiness on the rest of us through legislative trickery or the courts?) is designed to effectively choke off the onslaught that Liberals currently receive from non-liberal media sources by making those sources give some sort of 'equal time' to Leftist dissenters. Of course, the primary target for this new cannon is, you guessed it: Conservative Talk Radio.
It seems that Liberals just can't compete in the commercial market against such radio hosts as Sean Hannity, let alone their most hated enemy and the real focus of this nonsense: Rush Limbaugh. The short dismal history of liberal Air America Radio and the MILLIONS that have been wasted trying to float that leaky boat stand as testimony to the lack of interest people have in listening to such stellar intellects as hack comic Al Franken and nasal-toned Rhandi Rhodes.
If the liberals were as compassionate as they pretend to be, they'd do the country a favor and give Air America the Kevorkian treatment.
The only other venue that the Left has for spouting off their pap is NPR... National Public Radio. That's because NPR is floated by corporate donors and your tax money. In other words, the Libs reach into your pocket to spew their views on the airwaves. And their intent with the reworked Unfairness Doctrine (my nickname) is to force people like Rush Limbauugh to be more like NPR. Wow! What does NPR do? It broadcasts non-interactive content: in other words, you can only LISTEN to NPR... you can't call in and talk to the host, and become part of the debate. No surprise there, Bucko... liberals don't want to debate because they can't win a debate, ever. Just watch them step all over their own tongues on Fox News.
More radio content like BO-ring NPR.... just what the country needs! Ain't libs a creative bunch!
Well, if Senators Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer think some stupid legislative action is going to stem the tide of AM Talk Radio and the internet blogs, they're going to find out the hard way that free speech really IS a 1st Amendment guarantee to EVERYBODY, not just to Dan Rather, Rosie O'Donnell, All Franken, and Alec Baldwin. Write your representative and mention this.
If the Left is REALLY interested in fairness and balanced content, let them set the example for everybody else, starting with "The View" on ABC. Now that Rosie O'Donnell is history on that show, Bah-Bah Wah-Wah might consider replacing Rosie with a conservative counterpart and even up the political leanings of the 4 hostesses you see on the show. I nominate Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin for the empty spot. I'd love to see what either of these 2 would do to Joy Behar, a woman who, at her best, is irritating, and at her worst, downright repulsive.
Now THAT's a talk show!
'Nuff said!
